Noch bevor die Vernichtung der Juden im besetzten Europa auf typisch deutschen, geordneten Bahnen anzulaufen begann, endeten Vater und Mutter 1941 in einem Massengrab im IX. Fort in Kaunas. Sohn Jehuda, den im Gedränge dieser Massenerschießung keine Kugel traf, erwachte unter blutüberströmten und mit Kalk bedeckten Leichen. Der damals 14-Jährige erlebte anschließend die Repressionen und Gräuel des Ghetto-Alltags und verbrachte einige Zeit versteckt bei einer litauischen Bauernfamilie. Im Zuge der Liquidation des Ghettos von Kaunas wurde Jehuda mit anderen Überlebenden in das Konzentrationslager Dachau deportiert, das 1944 von amerikanischen Truppen befreit wurde.<o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;mso-pagination:widow-orphan'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:black'>Jehuda Beiles schloss sich dem Strom der Holocaust-Überlebenden nach Israel an. Er kämpfte im Unabhängigkeitskrieg mit und wurde verwundet. 1951 gründete er eine Familie.
